Card
Dr Marietta Garmer is a radiology specialist and the practice owner of GARMER TeamRadiologie Bochum.
She offers high-quality equipment with personal care in a first-class atmosphere at her private medical institute. An essential idea of the concept is the time factor for Dr Garmer and her team of specialists. Attentive human medicine and high-quality diagnosis require sufficient time. GARMER TeamRadiologie stands out positively from "assembly line medicine." The medical focus of the activity is on cardiovascular imaging and painless MRI examinations of the prostate.
Patient-Centered Care: Professional Specialist Care with Personalized Consultation of Findings.
The enthusiastic radiologist has more than twenty years of professional experience at various hospitals and trains medical students as part of university teaching.
Patients who suffer from spatial anxiety may also feel comfortable during the examination in the GARMER TeamRadiologie private practice due to particularly large openings in the equipment.
The examination findings are discussed in person immediately after the examination. The close cooperation within the team and the intensive professional exchange between the physicians ensure the highest level of expertise and a broad spectrum of specialized knowledge.
Highest Certification Levels in Cardiac Diagnostics and Prostate Diagnostics
In medicine, new examination and diagnostic procedures are constantly developing along with technology. The German Radiological Society's certification levels ensure quality and allow patients to find experts for specific examinations. The basis for this is a structured certification program with special courses, verified knowledge, and examinations at a high level.
Dr Garmer has achieved the highest levels of certification in cardiac and vascular diagnostics in CT, MRI, and prostate diagnostics.
Cardio CT: State-of-the-Art Imaging of the Coronary Arteries without Cardiac Catheterization
Dr Garmer brings extensive expertise in heart examination with more than fifteen years of experience in the imaging diagnosis of heart disease.
Deposits in the coronary arteries significantly contribute to coronary heart disease (CHD) development. An increased risk arises from an unhealthy lifestyle, such as an unhealthy diet, little exercise, and nicotine consumption.
Narrowed coronary arteries lead to reduced blood flow to the heart muscle. In the worst case, this can lead to a heart attack. If CHD is suspected, a cardiac CT can provide diagnostic clarification. This modern and gentle procedure offers significant advantages over cardiac catheterization, especially in ruling out CHD. The number of possible catheter-related complications can be reduced.
Cardio-MRI: Precise Method for the Diagnosis of Cardiovascular Diseases
If pathological changes in the heart are suspected, such as inflammatory changes, thickening of the heart muscle, or scarring, they can be detected using MRI. New techniques such as mapping and strain analysis further improve the significance by providing additional computer-assisted analysis of the images.
Cardio-MRI may also help evaluate circulatory abnormalities of the heart muscle.
Cardio-MRI does not involve radiation exposure and is a safe and low-risk diagnostic procedure. Questions about the appropriate method can be clarified individually in advance in a medical consultation.
Customized Preventive Medicine and Early Detection
GARMER TeamRadiologie supports the desire of many individuals to do more for preventive care and early detection of diseases. Bringing together information from the patient's medical history, complaints, and risks is essential. To this end, the GARMER team also works closely with physicians from other medical fields (e.g., cardiology, oncology, urology, neurology). Only correctly selected radiological imaging allows the necessary level of detail - unnecessary and inaccurate methods are avoided. Full-body examinations can be helpful in individual cases if the diagnostic quality is right.
Painless and Gentle Prostate MRI Examination
The prostate gland surrounds the male urethra, which is why changes in the organ can cause difficulty urinating. Hardenings can be palpated in the digital-rectal examination in the urological practice.
However, changes in the organ can also be detected in ultrasound or based on a blood sample. If the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) value in the blood sample is elevated, a prostate tumor should be ruled out. MRI serves as a simple and gentle diagnostic method without radiation exposure.
After the MRI examination, the decision for or against taking a sample (biopsy) can be made. MRI offers the particular advantage of a more targeted biopsy. The accuracy is therefore significantly increased. The MRI images can be superimposed on the ultrasound image used for the biopsy, for example, using appropriate equipment.
The MRI-guided biopsy is also possible at GARMER Radiology. Under the right conditions, this enables accurate and successful sampling with little stress. The sample is taken on an outpatient basis, and hospitalization is not necessary.
High-Quality Diagnostics for Injuries and Diseases of Bones, Muscles & Joints
The musculoskeletal system combines the spine and joints with bones, muscles, and tendons. It is a finely tuned system. Disorders of the musculoskeletal system can lead to burdensome movement restrictions and pain.
Imaging of the musculoskeletal system makes up an essential part of the diagnosis and therapy of diseased joints, bones, and muscles. Radiation-free MRI is usually the first choice in this field. CT can also be helpful in the case of bone fractures or joint prostheses. Back pain can also be treated quickly and safely using CT.
In GARMER TeamRadiologie, MRI with high field strength (3 Tesla) has particular advantages for imaging minor structures such as cartilage in the case of injuries and age-related degenerative diseases such as joint arthrosis.
