Information About the Field of Anterior eye segment
What is the anterior eye segment?
Ophthalmologists divide the eye into two anatomical parts, the anterior and posterior eye segments while the anterior segment is defined by the following:
The eyes are covered by the eyelids. The border to the front of the eyeball is constituted by conjunctiva, cornea and sclera. The iris is located beneath and gets its coloration from a pigment, which is responsible for our individual eye color. Lots of pigment yields brown eyes and small amounts of pigment present with blue or green eyes. The iris functions just like the aperture of a camera and closes if lots of light enters. The small opening in the center of the iris is called pupil. The incoming light rays pass through the pupil to reach the inner portion of the eyeball. Behind the iris, we can find the lens which is responsible for bundling the light rays entering through the pupil in order to create a sharp image.
