What is paranasal sinus cancer?

Paranasal sinus cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the paranasal sinuses, especially in the maxillary and ethmoid sinuses. These specific paranasal sinuses are located near the nose and on either side of it, i.e. in the area of the upper jaw.

Cancer in the paranasal sinuses is very rare and men are especially affected. They generally develop it twice as often as women.

Overall, around 60% of patients survive the first 5 years after diagnosis.
